Character Breakdown (For this production, LASC is interested in seeing actors of all ethnicities and backgrounds, for all roles.)
Casey: Male, in his 20s. A very good Elvis impersonator whose act doesn’t draw. Eternally optimistic and good natured, but doesn’t know what to think of the drag show at first.
Jo: Female, in her 20s. Casey’s wife and the pragmatist in the relationship. She loves Casey, but is constantly frustrated by the choices he makes (and the secrets he keeps).
Eddie: Male, early 50s-mid 60s. Owner of the bar where Casey performs his Elvis act. All about business and gruff, but loveable. Also, a terrible public speaker.
Miss Tracy Mills: Male, early 40s- late 50s. Eddie’s cousin and who runs/performs the drag show. A fierce performer and a direct businessperson. Handles the transformation of Casey into Georgia McBride.
Rexy/Jason: Male, mid 20s-late 30s. Miss Tracy’s partner in the drag act, though substance use and abuse makes performing a challenge from time to time. Also plays Jason, Casey’s friend and landlord.
