Sunday in the Park Auditions

Los Altos Stage Company is holding open auditions for Sunday in the Park with George with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine.

Inspired by the iconic painting by Georges Seurat, Sunday in the Park with George, Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s stunning masterpiece, merges past and present into beautiful, poignant truths about life, love, and the creation of art. One of the most acclaimed musicals of our time, this moving study of the enigmatic painter, Georges Seurat, won a Pulitzer Prize and was nominated for an astounding ten Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

Performance dates: Wednesday through Sunday, April 9-May 10, 2020. Wednesday-Saturday performances start at 8pm. Sundays start at 3pm.

Audition date: Saturday, October 26 from 10am-2pm.

Prepare: Please prepare 30 seconds-1 minute of a musical theatre song comparable in style, not from the show. Please bring sheet music for the accompanist, as well as hard copies of your headshot and resume.

Where: Grant Park, Room 2 (1575 Holt Avenue, Los Altos)

Callbacks: Saturday, November 2 from 10-2pm.

Rehearsals: Weekly, Sunday through Thursday, from 6pm-9pm (Sundays) and 7pm-10pm (Monday-Thursday). Rehearsals begin February 17, 2020.

Actor Stipend: $450 for rehearsals and performances. Non-AEA only.
