Youth Theater Camps 2019

Master-It-All Class (Ages 8-18)
This is the class for the performer who wants to learn it all! The first day each student will be given a basic introduction into acting, dancing, singing, and more! From there they will be divided into two groups and each day work on two different styles of performance with two different amazing teachers. This is a fast-moving camp covering many different styles. If your actor loves performing, this is the class for them!

Broadway Babies (Ages 4-6)
Bring your little performers to a camp aimed to help them learn the basics of theater, dance and singing! Each day they will enhance their skills, craft set decorations and props, play games and practice the show that they will perform on the final day of class at noon. Each session will be different. Please note: There will be a lunch and snack break

Fairytale Theatre (Ages 10-18)
Let the fantasy begin! Join this new camp on a fantastic adventure. Students will learn 3 short classic fairytales to be performed for families around the Los Altos area at our local parks and outdoor locations! During the week they will work on blocking, memorize lines, create props and costumes while developing these classic characters! Shows will be free to the public. Please note: There will be a lunch break.

Frozen Jr (Ages 7-13)
Join us in putting together a show in just TWO AND A HALF WEEKS! Performers will audition, be cast, rehearse and perform their show in record breaking time. Students will get to dance, act and sing while learning about the whole process of performing in a show! Camp concludes with a full weekend of performances! Please note: There will be a snack and lunch break.

Technical Theater Workshop (Ages 10-16)
Does working behind the scenes instead of in front of them sound good to you? This camp will give the attendants an introduction to all things
theater tech! They will get a chance to help build and paint sets, learn about lighting and working the board, crafting sound design, costume and prop construction, and much more! Students will also run the technical aspects for the camp production of Lion King Jr. A great way to learn more about how a show really comes to life! Please note: There will be a lunch break.

Musical Theatre Workshop (Ages 12-18)
Spend a week immersed in the melodic stories of musical theater. Each student will get a chance to work on scenes and songs with small and large groups, challenging themselves with different styles and characters. a pianist will be present during class to accompany the students. The class will end with a final performance during camp hours, culminating their weeks work. Please note: there will be a lunch break.

Acting for the Camera (Ages 10-18)
Lights, Camera, ACTION! Get ready for a brand new style of acting! This camp will work on the differences between acting for film and acting for theatre while also teaching camera techniques, different ways to film different styles of movies, editing – and more! A huge success last year – we just had to bring it back! Please note: There will be a lunch break.

Shape-A-Show (Ages 10-18)
Another new camp to the season, and we couldn’t be more excited! Students will spend the week creating their own show – they will develop characters, write a script, cast the characters, create props and costumes, direct and design the technical aspects – everything it takes to put on a show! It will all resolve with a performance on the final day! Put your creativity into overdrive because this camp will need it! Please note: There will be a lunch break.

All camps are taught by teams of highly-experienced, adult artist/teachers. Artist/Teacher bios will be posted by April 2019

LASC Summer Camp Cancellation Policy

If enrollment is cancelled before March 31st there will be a $10.00 processing fee. Enrollment cancelled between April 1st and June 1st will be subject to a $50.00 processing fee. There will be no refund after June 1st. A $10.00 transfer fee will apply to switching sessions.
