Los Altos Stage Company is currently seeking a part-time Audience Services / Box Office Manager.

Audience Services / Box Office Manager Job Description

The Audience Services / Box Office Manager is responsible for all aspects of the Box Office operations and implements key marketing and audience development strategies in collaboration with the Artistic Executive Director.  They report directly to the Executive Artistic Director.

Major areas of responsibility are:

  1. Managing and ensuring the smooth operation of the theater’s ticketing procedures and policies, including the on‐line ticketing, and interacting with customers on all event ticketing requirements.
  2. Interfacing between the theater and its audiences, dealing efficiently and appropriately with customer inquiries, complaints, and comments.
  3. Reconciling all Box Office receipts and regularly reporting income to the Managing Director.
  4. Recruiting, training, and supervising night Box Office staff.
  5. Recruiting, training, and supervising Front of House staff, including house managers and volunteer ushers.
  6. Managing and maintaining the computer hardware and software associated with the ticketing system.
  7. Managing the collection of audience data for database marketing purposes and reporting audience statistics regularly to the Executive Artistic Director.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

We are looking for someone with excellent customer service skills with an enthusiasm for LASC’s mission and program. Flexibility, energy, positivity, and patience are other important qualities for someone in this position. 

Some useful specific skills and experience  include:

  • Detail-oriented with excellent project management and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse personalities.

Salary & Schedule:

This is a part-time, hourly employment position of 15 to 20 hours/week, with some variability depending on needs for specific projects/events.  Pay range is $22-$24/hour based on experience.
