Casting Notice – The Greek Mythology Olympiaganza

Los Altos Youth Theater is holding open auditions for ages 8-18 for The Greek Mythology Olympiaganza by Don Zolidis

Directed by David Scott

Two battling narrators attempt to cover the entirety of Greek mythology using audience participation, cross-dressing, and general theatrical insanity. Famous myths such as Pandora’s Box, Jason and the Argonauts (the original Super Friends), and Hercules: Intern God jostle for space with obscure, weird myths such as the myth of Linus and the legend of the Argus. Culminating in a bizarre, musical dance-influenced version of The Iliad complete with a full-scale battle of little green army men, this play is wild, silly, and a complete blast for audiences of all ages.

Performance dates: Friday through Sunday, March 7 – March 16

Audition dates: Saturday, January 25 from 10 am to 2 pm from 10:00AM – 1:00PM

Callbacks: Sunday, January 26 from 10:00AM – 1:00PM

Where: Grant Park, 1575 Holt Ave, Los Altos

Rehearsals: Rehearsals will start Jan. 27 and will be Sundays-Thursdays from 5:00-8:00. Mar. 2 will be a mandatory rehearsal from 12:00-8:00. Mar. 3-Mar. 6 is our mandatory tech week from 5:00-10:00

Audition requirements:  No need to prepare anything for these auditions! Both auditions and callbacks will involve reading from the script and playing some games, so come dressed to move and play.

Participation Fee: There is a participation fee of $650 in order to register for this production. Limited scholarships available based on need. 

Roles: This is an ensemble show, so most actors will be playing multiple roles. We highly encourage people of all ethnicities, races, and gender identities to audition. This is a cast-all production, so everyone who auditions and can commit to the rehearsal process will be cast in the show.
