Broadway Babies (ages 4-6) REGISTER
July 25 – July 29
9 am to 1 pm *
This is a great introduction to theater that will set your child up for performing, as well as speaking to others, dealing with unexpected changes, and furthering their natural talent. Every day they will get to play many different character building and improvisation games to help them learn to think on their feet. They will get a chance to audition, with much help and prepping from the teachers, and get casted in their first mini-show! Each child will have their moment to shine while they spend time every day learning new songs, dances and blocking. The young performers will also spend some time helping create their own props and set decorations. There will be a performance on the last day of class to showcase their mini-musical!
Up and Comers (ages 7-11)REGISTER
July 25 – August 5
9 am to 2 pm *
This is a step up from your regular summer camp! These young performers will not only get prepped for auditions and put on a show, they will work on the fundamentals of technical theater knowledge as well as taking what they have been taught and physically/vocally putting it on the stage. Every day they will play age appropriate improvisation games and partake in character building exercises while spending focused, small group time on the specific areas of dancing, acting, or singing. They will also help paint and build their sets and assist in building the props! There will be a show the evening of the final day of class for friends and family to come and see how much they have learned!
Main Stagers (ages 12-18)REGISTER
August 1 – August 5
10 am to 3 pm *
This class is a performance intensive any youth who is serious about musical theater should take. The students will come in with a song, and receive feedback and a chance to work on that piece while receiving another solo and a duet to work on over the week. Everyone will get daily one-on-one acting and vocal training while also working with their fellow performers. Each student will learn the best way to warm up their voice and how to physically and mentally prepare to perform and/or audition. A great class for those auditioning for shows or colleges. There will be a final performance where the youth get a chance to show off all they have learned and improved upon!
* Aftercare available by previous arrangement with Camp Director Jillian Cummings for additional hourly fee.
